Johann Sebastian [JS] Bach, the quintessential Baroque composer, is one of my favorite [if not the favorite-depending on what day it is], composers of all.
|JS Bach [1685 - 1750]|
He composed so many sublime and beautiful pieces of music. One that is not only sublime and beautiful but also very peaceful is his "Air on the G-String". This piece is the second movement of Bach's orchestral suite #3 in D Major. It is so beautiful and beloved it is often played as a stand alone piece.
Here is a wonderful version of the Air played by a full symphonic orchestra at London's Royal Albert Hall during the 2010 BBC Proms. Maestro Andrew Litton leads the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
For any of you in stress and in need of some peaceful music, or for any of you who just love beautiful music, please turn up the volume, play in full screen and enjoy Bach's "Air on the G-String".
