Remembering Mom and Pop As We Light the Yahrzeit Candles

My brothers Sandy and Brad and my sister Susan and I lost our Pop on Dec. 9, 2007.  We lost our Mom on Dec. 25, 2010.    Tonight we will go to temple and say the Kaddish and light the Yahrzeit candles.

From Judaism About web site:  "A Yahrzeit (Yiddish for "a year's time") is the anniversary of the death of a loved one. Every year it is Jewish custom (minhag) to light a special candle that burns for 24 hours, called a Yahrzeit candle. The candle is lit on the Yahrzeit date of that person's death."

December 9, 2007

Because the anniversary date of their passing is so close, our family will honor their Yahrzeit on this Sabbath service, December 12, where their names will be read and we will recite the Kaddish.

The Mourner's Kaddish:

We love you and remember you forever, Mom and Pop.

Thanks big Mike, we were all blessed. I, as I'm sure you, sandy and susan also do, remember Reenie and Pop EVERYDAY , but the yartzheit tradition lives on!

There's not a day that goes by that I don't remember them and know how lucky we are to have had them.
Love you, Susan
