Remembering Mom on This Christmas Day

As I wish all my Christian friends a blessed Merry Christmas on this Christmas day,  I want to take a moment for a personal note.

My sister Susan, and my two brothers, Sandy and Brad and I were so blessed to have such great parents, Pop and Reenie.  Our Mom, Irene [Reenie] passed three years ago, December 25 2010.  My Mom was a special, wonderful mother and woman who was born on the 4th of July and died on Christmas Day.  In between she touched so many, many lives with love and happiness.  My Mom and Pop taught us by example to treat every person with dignity and respect, no matter what religion or race.  I think the date of her birth and date of her death were no accident as God was signifying that she was someone special.

Bradley, Reenie, Susan, Pop, and Sandy

Susan, Mom and Michael

Susan, Sandy, Brad and I love you Mom with all our hearts, and with happiness
we think of you and Pop back together again with God.

I am sorry I had to miss the unveiling of my Mom's gravestone as I had to work that day. My sister Susan and brothers Sandy and Bradley, and nephews Stephen and Randy made this wonderful video for me. This was so moving and beautiful and I love my family for doing this.  I am so glad my wife Sheralyn was able to be there for me.  I love all of my wonderful family. I think you will agree with me, my nephew Stephen [Sandy's son] was awesome in leading this moving service for my Mom. I love you guys and will never forget that you made this video for me.

We will always remember Mom, especially on Christmas Day.
We love you Mom.
God bless our Reenie!

Our beautiful and loving parents, reenie and pop, completed their lives with the satisfaction of seeing their son, my brother, big mike, became a great man - no better gift than that--- thanks for the tribute big mike!

Brad, you may be my younger brother but you are a big man.
Reenie and Pop smiled to see their youngest child become such a great man with a truly wonderful family.
You and Sandy and Susan have carried on the tradition of family that Reenie and Pop started. Not me, but you three have given the biggest tribute to them because of that.
Love, Michael

Dear Mike, thank you for sharing this wonderful tribute to your ul mother, my Aunt Irene. In hearing Sandy's remarks about your mom's cook books and paintings, I am so happy to say that I am one of the privileged ones. Not only do I have the cook book, but in my house I display a painting (once owned by my dad) that I have loved since I was a little boy. Whenever I look at it I think of my beautiful aunt Irene. God's blessings to you and all of your family. Love, Ron Goldstein

i've often said that our remarkable mom "came in with a bang, and went out with Jesus", i truly believe NOT by chance. Her fruitful and loving life lives on in her 4 children, one of which is the talented writer of Tales! Thanks big Bro for a beautiful tribute, so well deserved!

How beautiful this tribute to Reenie!
Michael, thank you for the opportunity to remember.
She touched my life in so very many ways. She was like a big sister to me. I called her everyday to learn how to live, patterned on her values & love of family.
Reenie and Pop are so proud of their children and their families.
I am so honored to be a part of this incredible family!
