The President for Some of the People

Quotes from a man who supposedly transcended race, a man who would bring the country together, end the racial divide, be a man who did not see a red America or a blue America, but only one United States of America.

Ah, yes, the one and only President Barack H. Obama--aren't we lucky to be blessed with such a unifier:

"a typical white person"   [quoted while running for president in 2008]

you need to "punish your enemies"

"The Cambridge Police acted stupidly"

"I won" [you lost GOP]

"You can't just go to Las Vegas" [to corporate executives]

"They [GOP] can come for a ride, but they're going to have to sit in the back"

"If you've got a business, you didn't build that"

"If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon"

Yes, he's the great divider.

As you can see, yes, Obama is the great divider-in-chief.  I could be wrong but I don't think there have ever been such a divider-in-chief in the oval office.

Our country has had good and bad president's, Republicans and Democrats, liberals and conservatives, but while there were policy differences and maybe even dislikes between the president and the opposing party, they have all been presidents that represented all of the people of the country.  That is all the president's before this one.

This is the first president in my lifetime that is the president for only some of the people, most of the time.  Yes, he's the president of the poor.  Yes, he's the president for people of color [unless that person of color is a conservative].  Yes, he's the president for those who espouse a far left ideology.

But if you are a white conservative, if you are a wealthy man, if you are a deeply religious person who believes in traditional values, if you are the Fox News Channel, if you are a patriot who believes America is and should always be the exceptional country in the world, you must sit in the back...way back.

President Barack Obama is the President for some of the people.  So, is it any wonder that this country is divided like I cannot remember at any other time in my lifetime.
