Senator Ted Cruz Announces He Will Hold State Dept. Nominations

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz
Senator Ted Cruz, R-TX, in a press release on Wednesday morning stated that he will hold all State Dept. nominees until the president  nominates an  Inspector General for the Dept. of State.
In the statement from the press release Senator Cruz states: 'The President's failure to nominate a State Department Inspector General since taking office in 2009 is unacceptable. The position has been vacant for almost 2,000 days. This is a crucial oversight position and should be a priority for an agency facing substantial management challenges."

Senator Cruz talked about the important need for an Inspector General soon because of the lack of oversight the last 5 years on events such as the terrorist attack on the diplomatic personnel in Libya and "mismanagement at our embassy in Afghanistan".

Senator Cruz ends his press release: "Until the President acts, I have notified Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell that I will place a hold on all State Department nominations."

I am so proud that I can call Ted Cruz my senator from the state of Texas.  He has stood tall above all the rest in my opinion.  Can you believe this great man is a freshman senator?  Talk about Mr. Smith goes to Washington, wow!
