Congress At Work?

Hat tip:  Local conservative Houston radio host and owner of the Taste of Texas restaurant and great American, Edd Hendee.
Well, it looks like the congress is finally going to get down to business and do their responsibility of being a check on an out of control, scandal ridden executive branch.

Yes, they are finally going to create a special select committee to finally find out the truth in the Fast and Furious scandal where great American Border Patrol agent Brian Terry lost his life from weapons our justice department handed out to the Mexican drug cartel.  - No, that's not it.

Yes, they are finally going to create a select committee to find out the truth in the Benghazi terrorist attack to hopefully give answers to the families of those great Americans killed. - No, that's not it.

Yes, they are finally going to create a select committee to find out the truth about the tyrannical IRS targeting  and harassing of conservatives and conservative groups. - No, that's not it.

No, we have 10 brave congressman who are outraged, outraged about the Washington Redskins name and angrily are demanding that this private organization change it's "racial derogatory slur" [sic] of native Americans.  Ah, our congressman at work.  They aren't paid enough.   "The representatives said Tuesday they've sent letters to Redskins owner Dan Snyder, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Redskins sponsor FedEx and the other 31 NFL franchises.   The letter to Snyder says that "Native Americans throughout the country consider the 'R-word' a racial, derogatory slur akin to the 'N-word' among African Americans or the 'W-word' among Latinos."     The "W" word?

Besides the obvious ridiculousness of United States congressman wasting their time on trying to get a private company to change their name with so many big issues of the day, in my opinion they are also wrong on the issue.   The name Redskins isn't there to demean native Americans.  It is there to honor them. They are not laughing at native Americans, they are saying their name with pride and in glory.  What does there team song say, Hail to the Redskins!  If I was a native American I would beam with pride every time the crowd in D.C. yells Go 'skins go!  That would be my team.  The Redskins name has been there for decades and decades. Why are these congressman bringing this up now?

Well, in honor of these congressman who have nothing better to do, take this song....I mean, enjoy this song:

In other words Brad, with who is in office now you would much rather hear Hail to the Redskins than Hail to the Chief.
Thanks bro!
