On A Personal Note

Today starts a new beginning in the life of the Tales.  Retirement.  Yes, yesterday was my final official day of work [after 38 years on the job as a postal worker] and today I got up feeling like a new man. A new 65 year old man. :-)  I have some ideas in my head how I will proceed, and what is good they will be things that I wish to do and not things that I have to do.

To celebrate my first weekend of retirement, of course with the fetching Mrs. B, we will be attending Jones Hall in Houston on back to back nights.  Tonight, Friday, we will be attending the concert featuring the great Motown legend Smokey Robinson who will be singing along with the accompaniment of the Houston Symphony Orchestra.  What a first day of retirement!   Then Saturday night we will again be attending Jones Hall to hear our great Houston Symphony Orchestra in a program featuring Mendelssohn and Mahler.  That will be covered Saturday and Sunday on the Tales traditional classical music weekends.

Turning back the hands of time, let us hear a little Smokey Robinson and the Miracles.
