Take It Back Rick. Take It Back Now!

I support Mitt Romney for president, but I also like Rick Santorum.  Today I really got upset with Rick Santorum with his totally uncalled for comments comparing Romney favorably with Obama.

From the National Journal article "Santorum:If you like Romney, vote for Obama": Santorum said that Romney is so much like Obama, voters in the fall might as well stick with the incumbent. At a campaign event in San Antonio, Santorum reprised his ridicule of the front-runner as the Etch A Sketch candidate, who will change his positions after the primary.
“You win by giving people a choice,” he said. “You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who’s just going to be a little different than the person in there. If you’re going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate of the future.”
Unbelievable, Rick.  We might as well stick with Obama if Romney is the nominee?  That is sickening. That comment will be used in the fall campaign by Obama over and over again. That comment makes me wonder if you even know what is at stake in this election. Do you think it is important to the future well being of this country that president Obama does not win a second term? I guess not according to your comments that we might as well stick with Obama, the devil we know. Rick, if you don't even realize how important it is to replace this divisive president, then I think you should not even be considered to be our nominee.  Unlike you though Rick, if by some miracle you win the GOP nomination, I along with Mitt and Newt and I hope all Republicans will support you 100%, as you would be light years better than Obama.  Mitt Romney, whether you realize it or not, Rick, also will be light years better than Obama as our commander in chief.

Rick Santorum, you will not win the GOP nomination, but I hope you will not be like a sore loser that wants to bring our nominee down. You will lose not just my respect, but I think the respect of every conservative patriotic American.

Take it back Rick.  Take it back, now!

I totally agree and could not believe he said that. If he feels that way, he should not be running for President. Does he not realize what is at stake in this election? It is not about him. It is about beating Obama. Thanks for your post.

Thank you Joel for your great comment. Rick tried to pull his comment back on Hugh's show on Friday, saying when he said "we might as well stick with what we have" ...he meant that's what the American people will say. That is kind of weak to me, but at least he did say to Hugh if Romney won the nomination, of course he would support him. That's better.
Thanks again Joel!
