This is very upsetting news but news that is not unexpected if you are a fan of Caroline Glick. I posted on Dec. 31, 2010 More from Caroline Glick on Israel. This is some of what I wrote that Caroline stated on Bill Bennett's Morning in America show with sub host Rick Santorum:
More disturbing is the US policy going forward regarding Israel. Caroline talked about how a lot of people missed the meaning of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's pronouncement a few weeks back. Ah, people thought, it looked like they were finally dropping the demand that Israel stop construction in Jerusalem [like they had a choice with Bibi]. But the real meaning from it is that the United States will have a policy now of just making Israel irrelevant as far as the peace negotiations are concerned. [anyone remember Daniel Patrick Moynihan's advice to Nixon regarding welfare...benign neglect]. The Palestinians will just announce [without any negotiations] their Palestinian state in the UN. The US even if they don't support it, doesn't veto it, that will in effect support the Palestinians [Hamas, Hezbolah]. The US will also continue in its generous aid to the Palestinians [Caroline Glick says it is a billion dollars a year....ten fold of what the Clinton administration gave] and even increase it hundreds of millions of dollars to help the Palestinians create their 'state'.
Well guess what folks, Caroline Glick was 100% right.
We now have this article published for Sunday's April 3 NY Times
JERUSALEM — With revolutionary fervor sweeping the Middle East, Israel is under mounting pressure to make a far-reaching offer to the Palestinians or face a United Nations vote welcoming the State of Palestine as a member whose territory includes all of the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Authority has been steadily building support for such a resolution in September, a move that could place Israel into a diplomatic vise. Israel would be occupying land belonging to a fellow United Nations member, land it has controlled and settled for more than four decades and some of which it expects to keep in any two-state solution.
................ Palestinian leaders, emboldened by support for their statehood bid, dismiss the expected offer [from Israel] as insufficient and continue to demand an end to settlement building before talks can begin.
“We want to generate pressure on Israel to make it feel isolated and help it understand that there can be no talks without a stop to settlements,” said Nabil Shaath, who leads the foreign affairs department of Fatah, the main party of the Palestinian Authority. “Without that, our goal is membership in the United Nations General Assembly in September.”

September is not that far away, so this is very scary indeed. This story gives me a sick feeling in my stomach, and probably the same for all of you who are friends of Israel.
God continue to Bless and protect Israel and the courageous people of Israel.

As always, my friend Michael, you are on the ramparts warning us all of what you see clearly coming over the hill!!! May God Bless & Protect Israel & God Bless America!!!
1) Our GOP friends in Congress must make it clear that a vote to carve a nation out of Israel would be a vote to pull American funding in 2012.
2) Let's petition the UN to make Rhode Island, Delaware, South Dakota and Arizona Native American States.
3) We should wish for such a measure because it would either force Israel to finally bulldoze the menace to their south into the sea or repatriate them all into Jordan.
You should include Alaska in the Native American States...so how do we start the petition to the UN? But, without the majority supporting this petition, what would you suggest as a recourse (war?).
Chaya,
For the current game, there is no recourse, checkmate is in September as far as I can tell. I'm afraid that the next game we'll be playing won't be chess.
