On Monday's Bill Bennett show, he was talking about the budget and the deficit and brought it down to a personal level with a pretty good joke. Here is a slight variation on the Bill Bennett joke:
The wife of a husband who had just lost her major credit card saw her husband writing a check for the credit card bill well after it had been lost. She increduously asked her husband, "Why are you writing a check for that credit card. Those weren't my expenses. Shouldn't you have called the credit card company to cancel that card and get a new one". The husband looks at his wife and says: 'Why, this bill is a lot less than I'm used to."
