Houston Symphony Orchestra's Donor Appreciation Concert

Tonight, Thursday August 28, 2014, the Houston Symphony Orchestra is hosting a free appreciation concert at Jones Hall in Houston, TX for its donors, large and small.  The fetching Mrs. B and I are very excited to attend this special concert.  I have the DVR ready to tape my Houston Texans in their last pre-season game. I don't know if they will win, but I know the Houston Symphony will perform in a guaranteed winner!

What is neat is that the Houston Symphony Orchestra sent out of a long list of classical music pieces that the donors got to vote on to choose what we will be hearing at the concert.

Here are some of the pieces, but not all, they have informed us that we voted on and will be hearing:

Rossini: Overture to William Tell
Beethoven: Symphony No. 5 (First Movement)
Barber: Adagio for Strings
Dvorak: Symphony No. 9 - From the New World (Largo)
Wagner: Ride of the Valkyries

Thank you Houston Symphony Orchestra for this generous concert.

We can't wait when in a couple of weeks the start of the Houston Symphony Orchestra's 2014-2015 season begins with our new exciting director officially in charge, Andres Orosco-Estrada.   This will be some exciting season!

Here is one of the pieces Mrs. B and I will be hearing from our great Houston Symphony Orchestra, Gioacchino Rossini's "William Tell Overture" [yes, you know it, at least I am pretty sure you know the ending--think Lone Ranger].

Turn up the volume and enjoy.
