Hagel Nomination An In Your Face Slap To GOP/Israel

In one of the most unbelievable divisive "in your face" nominations in US presidential history, the dis-uniter in chief, Barack Obama has actually nominated the anti Israel RINO Chuck Hagel for Secretary of Defense.

I did a recent post on this possible nomination: Tales Opposes A Chuck Hagel Nomination For Secretary of Defense.  Little did I realize that President Obama would actually have the chutzpah to make such a divisive pick.  But then again, I was one arguing against his re-election saying [for just one of the reasons opposing him] without an election to worry about, I feared to think what Obama's actions and policies toward Israel would be in the next four years.

In that post came these statements and actions from Hagel that proves his animus towards Israel:

In October 2000, Hagel was one of only 4 Senators who refused to sign a Senate letter in support of Israel.

In November 2001, Hagel was one of only 11 Senators who refused to sign a letter urging President Bush not to meet with the late Yasir Arafat until his forces ended the violence against Israel.

In June 2004, Hagel refused to sign a letter urging President Bush to highlight Iran’s nuclear program at the G-8 summit.

In May 2005, in writing in article for The Financial Times, Hagel explicitly ruled out any military option against Iran.

In December 2005, Hagel was one of only 27 who refused to sign a letter to President Bush to pressure the Palestinian Authority to ban terrorist groups from participating in Palestinian legislative elections.

In August 2006, Hagel was one of only 12 Senators who refused to write the EU asking them to declare Hezbollah a terrorist organization.

In August of 2008 the anti-Israel group, CAIR praised Hagel: “Potential presidential candidates for 2008, like Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Joe Biden and Newt Gingrich, were falling all over themselves to express their support for Israel. The only exception to that rule was Senator Chuck Hagel…” [Council on American-Islamic Relations, 8/28/06]

In March of 2009, Hagel was one of 10 former and current foreign policy officials who signed a letter urging President Obama to open direct talks with Hamas leaders.

Since these disturbing statements and or actions by Hagel from my post, it has come to light that Hagel in 2006 used the term "The Jewish lobby...", a reference used by anti semites throughout the world.

This may be the most damaging revelation yet as it not only confirms the animus of Hagel towards the state of Israel, but it is also a display of some anti semitic tendencies by the former senator.  Some on the left like to throw the term racist around way too much when it isn't deserved, so I will not say outright that Hagel is an anti Semite, but it sure doesn't make me feel good as a Jew about this man.

So, with all this known to President Barack Obama and the fact that he also knows of the great opposition from almost all Republicans and even some Democrats to the Hagel nomination, why, oh why, would the president make such an "in your face nomination"?

To add to all this, it has become known that Hagel has made, what can politely be said some anti Gay statements in the past.  I have seen where even some Gay groups are upset with this nomination.

So, again why, Mr. President  why would you make this nomination?  The only thing one can conclude is that President Obama's dislike [I'm trying to be nice] of Israel trumps Hagel's animus toward Gays.

There is no doubt Barack Obama and Chuck Hagel are friends. Both have said as much.

Hmm, I guess that confirms the old saying: 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend'.

Everything we knew this man in the WH would do after re-election will manifest as quick as he can. That way it will be too late, and the uniformed voters will have NO idea this all happened. :-(

What's really sad Krissy is that the uninformed voters don't really care.
