Which One Are You, Mr. President?

About a week ago, Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter made the outrageous charge that "Mitt Romney is either a liar or a felon," in regards to his timeline of making decisions at Bain.  Then she said Romney should release all the documents to prove which one it is.   This is Chicago politics at its thuggery worst.  I'm surprised she didn't follow up with asking Romney when he had stopped beating his wife.

Now you have the complicit main stream media chiming in, saying Romney should release all the documents. This was what all attention was focused on all of the Sunday talk shows. They also asked why Romney isn't releasing more of his tax returns to prove he has nothing to hide.

What is truly galling about this is we have just had the main stream media poo poo any corruptness in the Obama administration's Fast and Furious program.  The Obama administration has been saying that they had no knowledge of the program, and that President Obama never discussed the program with his Attorney General.  Nevertheless, the administration has claimed executive privilege, so as not to release any more documents; and this involves something a lot more serious and important than Mitt Romney's work at Bain or his tax returns.  An American border patrol agent, Brian Terry, was killed with one of the Fast and Furious guns let out to the Mexican drug cartel.  So, we have an American hero murdered as the direct result of the Fast and Furious program, but the liberal media, so anxious for light to be shined on Romney's tax returns, never demand that even one document in that program be released.  Shame on you, main stream media.

Because President Obama ordered Attorney General Holder to claim executive privilege to withhold documents on "Fast and Furious" we must assume one of two things.  The president either did have conversations with Holder about the program and had knowledge of it, which means he lied when he said he had no knowledge of it, or the president is participating in a coverup of some criminal activity by his administration.

So, in the words of your senior campaign manager, President Obama, you are either a liar or you are a felon.  Which one is it, Mr. President?

President Obama, you may have the main stream media covering up for you, but that won't stop this blogger from demanding that you release all of the Fast and Furious documents. As Richard Nixon once said, "The people have a right to know if there president is a crook."

You see President Obama, Chicago thuggery politics can work both ways.

I agree with Charles Krauthammer who said that Romney should not give in to releasing any more tax returns, because if he releases 5 years, the Obama administration and the media [sorry for being redundant] will ask for 10, if he releases 10 they will ask for 15.  Romney could  never satisfy the liberals or the media [sorry for being redundant again].  Also, once he released those tax returns, all we would be hearing from now until election day would be questions on Romney about this deduction or that, as the media will be combing through his returns like John Edwards combs through his hair. Krauthammer also said, and I agree, that "Romney turned over a dozen years of tax returns to the McCain campaign, when they faced each other, and if McCain says they are 100% clean, I trust John McCain's word."

Mitt Romney could say he will turn over more tax returns when president Obama orders the Attorney General to release all of the Fast and Furious documents. Or better yet, something that will stop Obama dead in his tracks on continuing on this distraction, Mitt Romney could say, "I will release the last 10 years of tax returns and all of my college transcripts, if Barack Obama will also release the last 10 years of his tax returns and all of his college transcripts."  "Do we have a deal President Obama?"   I think the silence would be deafening.

Except for those two conditions, I hope Mitt Romney stands tall and only releases this year's tax returns [along with last year's that he has already turned in] and no more.
