Don't judge a book by its cover or a classical composer by his name.

If you are just a casual follower of classical music, the name Johann Nepomuk Hummel may not ring a bell.  He might have a funny sounding name, but this student of Mozart composed some serious music.  So, we have Amadeus teaching Nepomuk.  Maybe not classic names, but they certainly composed some great classical music. Although his name might not be well known to some, it was certainly well known to the great composers of his time.  I like Hummel's music.

Yesterday, you heard the third movement of Hummel's trumpet concerto, and today I'd like you to listen to the opening movement of Hummel's piano concerto in A minor.  I really like this piano concerto and hope you will too.  As I do not show the orchestra in this video, I just want you to turn up the volume and sit back and enjoy.

Hummel: Piano Concerto in A minor, 1st movement, Allegro Moderato:
