On this Labor Day Holiday an Extended Classical Weekend

I hope all of you are enjoying your extended holiday weekend. [and bless those of you who are working on this Labor Day]

Because of the holiday I will also extend my classical weekend with this great piece from Beethoven.

Beethoven's violin concerto is one of the four truly great violin concertos that stand above all the rest. Beethoven's, Mendelssohn's, Brahms' and Tchaikovsky's violin concertos, in no particular order, are the cream of the crop.

In this performance the brilliant violin virtuoso, Itzhak Perlman, is the soloist. This is a great performance of the Beethoven concerto.   Especially watch Perlman's brilliant skills displayed in the cadenza  [6:43-7:53].
