Luntz post debate focus group: It's Mitt!

According to the focus group of Republicans from Frank Luntz [on Sean Hannity's show] on who won the debate it wasn't close. It was Mitt Romney all the way.  Many said they had switched from supporting Perry before the debate to supporting Mitt Romney afterwords.  If this group is in any way representative of the GOP at large, then Mitt Romney will be the GOP nominee and the next president of the United States.

I wrote a post 6 months ago, in March,  'Why Romney care won't hurt Mitt.'   At that time I thought I was alone in that belief  and it gave me pause to wonder if I had written a foolish post.  But this focus group was saying almost the exact same things I said in my post back then.

I came into this debate hoping Rick Perry would really shine and make a better showing than the last debate, but I came away worried that if he is our nominee, he won't be a good debater against president Obama.  We must have someone who without doubt can not only beat Obama in a debate, but also in the election.   After this debate tonight I am leaning strongly toward Mitt Romney being that man.

Once again, as in the previous debates, while Mitt was the most presidential and confident on the stage, Newt Gingrich was the smartest man on the stage and Herman Cain was the most likable.

Once again, I say Hugh Hewitt should bring back his book: A Mormon in the White House.  This time, without the question mark.
