An NBC Disgrace!

NBC aired one of the great golf tournaments in America, the US Open this last weekend. It is one of the four Majors of the PGA.   Well they thought it would be a good idea to have on a patriotic moment, with young school children saying the Pledge of Allegiance. That was a great idea.  One problem though. The geniuses of NBC, for a reason only God knows [oops], edited out the words "under God, indivisible".

You know that a barrage of outraged citizens must have phoned NBC, as they had to issue a perfunctory apology.

The apology, read by the sports announcer, said : 'We understand that some people are upset that the Pledge was edited and some words left out, and for anyone who was offended, we apologize.'

Obviously, NBC didn't give a damn about offending anyone or they wouldn't have done something so obviously offending in the first place.  In their apology they didn't even have the guts to say what words they took out from the pledge. They just talked about words being left out.      Is God that much of an anathema to NBC that they couldn't even say what they edited out?

Hat Tip:  ToniMarie from Arizona, a tribble on twitter aka @Mrs_ESTMR who pointed out something else wrong with what NBC did.
On twitter, ToniMarie tweeted: "can you imagine how excited the kids must have been to watch, only to find they were edited? Shameful & sad."

Exactly right @Mrs_ESTMR!  NBC should issue another apology, this time to the kids, because they didn't just edit out God from the Pledge of Allegiance, they also, in effect, edited out a piece of the children's pride. I am sure the children and their parents watched in excitement, only to be disappointed by what was not shown.     Shame on you, NBC.

You ought to change your name from NBC to NBD:  The National Broadcast Disgrace.

NBC you said you apologize if you offended anyone.  If you truly mean that, then at the next available opportunity, you should have those same kids on again live to say the Pledge of Allegiance.   This time in their own unedited words.
Otherwise, I don't think I'm alone when I say,  apology not accepted.
