David Ben Gurion declares the State of Israel on this day in history

Thanks to my friend and fellow tribble @inhuggermugger  on twitter, aka Hawkeye and The Balladeer for reminding me of this great day in history, May 14, 1948 when David Ben Gurion declares the great State of Israel. He would become the first prime minister of Israel.

On that same date the United States, in the person of President Truman, recognized the provisional Jewish government as de facto authority of the new Jewish state (de jure recognition was extended on January 31).

I've always said the United States of America with the genius from the founding father's documents had to be inspired by God.  Well, Israel was not only inspired by God but there by God's will.

In the United States Declaration of Independence came beautiful awe inspiring words, I think the same can be said of Ben Gurion's declaration of the State of Israel.

Thank you God for Israel and all of your blessings.
